Attorney Lace Hernandez focuses her practice of law almost exclusively on criminal cases and family law matters. Mrs. Hernandez obtained a Bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Florida International University, and her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from St. Thomas University.
Prior to attending law school, Mrs. Hernandez attended the paralegal studies program at University of Miami, and subsequently worked as a certified paralegal for several years in the area of family law. She subsequently earned her Juris Doctor degree from St. Thomas University School of Law where she graduated cum laude among the top of her class with honors and a certification in Criminal Litigation. During her time in law school, she was a member of the law school’s Trial Team, which is a highly selective national championship trial advocacy honors organization. She also served as Vice-President of the St. Thomas Criminal Law Society, where she organized informative events regarding wrongful convictions, exonerations, and the death penalty. She was given Dean’s Lists awards each year for her academic achievements.
Mrs. Hernandez has voluntarily contributed over 100 hours of pro bono legal services to the community for individuals in need of legal assistance who did not have the financial resources to obtain an attorney. She has also worked at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office in her capacity as a certified legal intern within the Juvenile Division.
Having worked in the legal field in a variety of capacities, Mrs. Hernandez understands that your criminal or family case is a stressful and possibly life altering situation. For this reason, she is dedicated to treating each client with compassion, while working zealously and aggressively to achieve the best possible outcome for you.
Mrs. Hernandez is fluent in both Spanish and English and is licensed to practice law in the State of Florida.
